OOTD x BLT | Easy Red Stripes

Red is just where it's at for me lately. Once I was able to get over my fear of the color, see why here, I am now ready to wear it in all kinds of forms! It's fun, it's easy, and it's the perfect pop of color for any look. So many times we see red and think bold, daring, and fearless. That's all fine and dandy, but why not make it simple? Why not relax? Why not enjoy some "Easy Red Stripes"?!;)

This look was meant to be laid back, but with flare. I chose this red, short sleeved crop top as an option for a weekend getaway with my some girl friends, during Valentine's weekend. You never know what you may get into or what look you may need to do, and of course during Valentine's I like to have plenty of red to choose from. I thought this simple, but fun striped shirt would do the trick and I was right!

Stripes are known for being nautical and simple. It's like as soon as you put on stripes you automatically feel at ease in whatever you're about to do. For me, stripes say "No pressure!" Clothing is speaking to me! Is that weird? I paired the crop with a long line grey cardigan, since it was still a little chilly outside at the time. The cardigan kept me warm, but didn't take away from the red. Gray can be good like that, though. It's always there to enhance, but rarely tries to steal the show. Got to love a good grey piece to keep things mellowed out on your looks. The ease continues!

Of course I have on my favorite black backpack from Forever21! I love everything about this backpack, especially carrying it as my purse. Aside from making me feel like I'm always going on some type of adventure, this purse can literally carry everything you need. So often I buy purses because of how cute they are, but rarely venture out of my regular handbag rotation to try them out. I am so glad I tried this bag! Beware though, you do get strange looks when you're inside the store reaching into a backpack. Just saying!

High waist jeans and crop tops go together like peanut butter and jelly, chocolate and vanilla, yin and yang,...the list goes on! For me, when you see one you'll probably see the other. They are the perfect opposites for each other and the easiest last minute combo to create. One is a little short, while the other is a little taller than most. What's not to love about them together?! Plus, I love a good high waist jean to create that little hourglass silhouette. I chose light denim because I thought that would compliment the gray cardigan the best, but I was digging how it made the red pop too! Red stripes may be easy, but they can still steal the show.

I have finally gotten to a more aware maturity level in my wardrobe selections and do not feel the urge to have every crop I see or show as much skin as I use to. Hallelujah and praise God for growth! Now when I buy a crop top, if I buy one, it is strictly worn with a high waist bottom so as to done down the sexy, but not allow it to completely diminish. Red in itself is a sexy color, so it does the work for you in providing a little va-va-voom. By rocking the stripes I was able to make this look more fun and light. Some looks are meant to be more fun than flirty and that's totally okay!

You know I had to finish this look off with my favorite black booties that make me heart and feet smile! I've been so obsessed with these booties for all my Winter looks, so it was easy breezy to pick shoes for this OOTD. Red can pop against any color and black can go with pretty much anything, so what's not to love about them together. No difficulty, no stress, just red and stripes with ease!

Get hype about a stripe! Peace, beautiful people!
