I've never been a huge fan of the color red. I had convinced myself that I was too dark to be able to successfully pull this color off, in any capacity, especially if it was a bright cherry red. I had never tried red lipstick, I did not have many clothing pieces that were a solid red, and you couldn't pay me to rock red nail polish. I was convinced that red was not a darkskin girl's color. Then last summer, I tried it out in the summer as a lipstick and my world changed! I was now convince that there was nothing wrong with "Cherry Red on Chocolate"!;)
Not only was I wrong about being an unflattering color on chocolate skinned people, but I was also missing out such a gorgeous color! I got a little courage to wear this color around Valentine's Day. All things red were basically all you found in the stores, so I had to give it a try! Best decision ever!
This look was made as a possible Valentine's Day look, but really can be worn anytime! Red is not only the color of love, it's a color of sexy! I paired this cut out top with jeans, to somewhat tone it down. I didn't want to do a skirt or leggings, for fear of looking too "club-ish". I didn't want to do boyfriend jeans, because it was going to show more skin than I envisioned and looking a little sloppy. I needed that happy medium between not too sexy and not to laid back. I had a winner! High waist jeans were the perfect choice! They are universal pants, perfect for just about any occasion. They add a little flare, by hugging your curves in all the right places, but since they are jeans, they can do the casual thing too.
This (picture below) is what happens when you're trying to tuck in your little lovely handles (much better term than "love handles", don't you think?) and your sister snaps the picture anyway. I am not ashamed of my lovelies, so I am sharing them with you! High waist jeans, that actually fit, are great for tucking in your lovelies! Mine are a little on the small side, but I love them so much that I refuse to let them go.

I hate when my jeans don't hug my ankles! It makes the pants look so weird to me! So to eliminate that issue, I am a pants leg roller. I roll a lot of my jeans, considering my height is slightly awkward. The jeans fit better around the ankles, but not too short that I look silly.
I'm not gonna lie...I am digging my little shape in this pic below! But honestly, that's more high waist jean affect than me! That's what I love about high-waisted jeans; these jeans give you more of an hourglass shape since they cinch at the waist, giving the effect of a little tummy and bigger booty, Who doesn't want that?! My ladies with little torsos, beware! High waist jeans can swallow you up and not be so flattering if they are too high.
This is definitely my favorite picture of them all! Over the shoulder says "Heyyyyyy!", but not in too sexy of a way. Flash a little booty, and a little smirk to really get that sweet, but sassy vibe.
Or you could face them, smile forward and say "Heyyyyy! I am here and red and cute as I wanna be!" The look is a little on the sassy side, but that doesn't mean to lose your smile. No facial expression beats a smile.
Pretty edgy photo, wouldn't you say? I love the composition of this photo!
Peace and sexy face!
