New York Fashion Week has come and gone! The shows were AMAZING; thank God for technology and the ability to feel like you're right there with the rest of the who's who of fashion! The best thing about fashion week is seeing the designers fantasies come to life; all their hard work, energy, and sheer talent is put all on the line, or runway, for the world to enjoy! Designers set the stage for what we will all want to wear next fall and these particular designers and lines caught my eye! Here are my TOP EIGHT lines from MBFW, in order of the days presented! Enjoy:)
1. BCBGMAXAZARIA
Cool colors in the Fall always seem to draw me in. The grey's, soft blue tones, and cremes are always set so perfectly against your typical Fall, dark hues. This line included a lot of over sized turtle necks, wool coats, and intricate patterns. I feel like they are looks that I can recreate myself, on my budget, and still look just as stylish. For me, that is how a great line is supposed to make you feel; capable! Plus, those over-the-knee camel boots just do it for me, easily!
2. Desigual
I am starting to believe this line, developed by Manel Jadraque, will always be a Fall fav! You can always count on the line to be lively, colorful, and full of personality. I love how the models smile and the hair is big and bouncy! You want to be that model, walking down the street, walking into your office, walking through the mall; happy, confident, and fashionable! Aside from the models, the patterns are flawless. Fashion is becoming very monochromatic, but this line has me wanting to pull out all the colors, patterns, and materials in my closet and rock them all Fall!
3. Tome
Here's a perfect example of fashion leaning towards monochromatic styles; subtle patterns and blocked colors, but I like it! This line had a lot of neon like the orange jacket pictured and latex materials (not pictured). I was drawn to this line because of the style of the wool coats, the pops of color, and the juxtaposition of the materials. I would strongly suggest checking out the rest of this line on your own; there was this one blush pink fur coat that is off the chain!
4. Mark and Estel
It's such a dark and edgy line. It can cater to that mysterious side of you, the side that literally lets the fashion speak for you. In these clothes you are not to be messed with, not to be challenged, not to be understood; only enjoyed. You are confident, but in a way that says "You could never change how I feel about me". I like that! I really like that! The colors in this line compliment each other so well, the models bring a fierce attitude, and all the looks are ready to be owned!
5. Mara Hoffman
This line is eclectic. You can't categorize this line as soft or edgy, laid back or in your face; it's just everything! There is so much variety, from the styles to the patterns, it can provide a look for just about every fashion personality you can think of. Plus, my favorite model Nykhor is in this show looking beautiful!
6. Ran Fan
You don't expect bold, bright colors in the Fall, so I always appreciate a designer who isn't afraid to go against the odds! You can be warm and colorful at the same time, and Ran Fan shows you how, effortlessly. I love the fur, I love the length of the skirts, and I love the boots worn by the models. I just love this line!
7. Anna Sui
This line has such an amazing vibe to it! I was reading on Style.com that the designer became fascinated with a series on History Channels, Vikings, which inspired the entire line. That's awesome! I've always believed you can find inspiration for fashion anywhere and this line proves it. She killed this. I'm even going as far as to say this is my favorite line from NYFW 2015
8. Tokyo Runway Meets New York
This Japanese based lined definitely is an eye catcher. I've always believed Asian- infused fashion was cut from a different cloth, being that it is so unpredictable, unorthodox, and just different. This show included seven Japanese designers and labels, all of which with an insane creative mind! I can dig it. You get a little bit of everything; street style, upscale, and high fashion.
