OOTD x BLT: | BLT in NYC- A Fashion Recap

As a part of a graduation present, my mother treated my sister and I (and of course she was along for the ride as well) to a trip to one of our favorite cities in the US-New York City! Although we have been before, this is one place I would not mind visiting every Summer! It's the bright lights, diversity of people, endless attractions, and great food that make New York one of my favorite places on earth. And that doesn't even include the FASHION! Every time I think of New York City, my first thought is of all the different styles you can see in one day. I love the immense sense of individuality that NY offers; no two people ever seem to look the same. This idea is what helped me to pack for our 4 day trip- creating a different vibe, different personality, and plenty of variation for each day. Here are the four looks I rocked on the beautiful and busy streets of New York!

Day 1- Going on a Trip
This trip to NY was my first time ever flying on a plane! So exciting! Although our trip was short, I loved every minute of it! Being up in those clouds was an experience I will never forget. I felt like a kid in a candy store, simply in awe of my surroundings and the atmosphere. There is something so free-ing about getting on a plane, knowing that an all new destination is awaiting you. My Day 1 outfit was inspired by our exciting new destination with a"New York" tee from Target, black HM jeans (cut by me) because I was told planes can be a little chilly, thrifted jean over shirt to avoid carrying a jacket, a Kate Spade tote to hold all my carry-on items, and Nike Huaraches from Champs that are super comfy and chic. This outfit made me feel like a little jet-setter (I feeling I could get use to) and cool, really cool!

Flying in over the Meatpacking District!

Peep the brightest luggage known to man kind! LOL!

Day 2- Hippie in the City
First full day in the city calls for an outfit that is just as excited about it as I was. My outfit succeeded! I felt so hippie and free in this outfit. There was this big city awaiting me and my outfit, and we were ready to take it on! Both halter top and crochet shorts are from Pacsun, gold gladiators are a Summer 2014 pick up from Off Broadway, and Coach cross-body bag borrowed from mommy's closet. Although I loved this outfit, wholeheartedly, I would never wear it again on a shopping day. We spent a lot of time in Manhattan on Day 2, doing a lot of shopping; this look was much too hard to deal with in a dressing room, especially when combined with my big hair (crochet braids)!

 Waiting on the beloved subway!

Day 3- Sundress Simplicity
After dealing with my Day 2 outfit during shopping, Day 3 had to be simple, and nothing beats simple like a sundress. This dress was perfect for more shopping (of course) and a relaxing ride on the Staten Island ferry to see Lady Liberty. I loved how soft and feminine I felt in this Forever 21 maxi and shoe combo, while maintaining a modern feel with the black and taupe fun print. Plus, this look went from day to night effortlessly!

Times Square at night is BEAUTIFUL!

Day 4- Floral Prints and Platforms
Last day in the city called for something FUN! Our last day was spent simply exploring- Central Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn, and even a little Harlem. I've had this Pacsun floral crop for a while, with no where to wear it; when I learned of our trip this shirt was one of the first items in my suitcase. I am a sucker for floral prints and I love how the top flows so I felt cool all day. When paired with a pair of HM high waist white jeans and metallic platforms from Target, I felt balanced. The jeans somewhat calmed down the busy-ness of the shirt, while the platforms made for great walking shoes and provided a little attitude.

Even when you're in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, when you see a mirror, you selfie!

Snapchat locations in NY were the cutest!

Must obey all signs in Brooklyn, especially this one!

Although I was sad to say goodbye to NY, I felt that I left my little fashion imprint on it's beautiful streets. I look forward to future trips, so that next time I can showcase other people's sense of fashion instead of my own. I felt inspired by all the beauty, excitement, and the fast paced life, which I hope to depict in my own future looks this summer. Until next time NY! You were a great indulgence!
