Ok, so although it seems like summer is halfway over, I still wanted to let you gals see what I was obsessing over for this hot and fun season. From looking on Instagram, to look-books, and blogs galore, I have been seeing a few trends that I definitely have to indulge in this summer. From hairstyles, to clothes, to shoes- I just love it all! Some of these trends you may have seen or indulged in before, while others are new and ready for you to add your own twist to. Summer heat is in full effect, so make sure you are staying cool, but looking hot in these. Check out my list, add a few things of your own, and have a trendy summer.
Braids, Cornrows, and French Braids- It's an old trend, but still one of the best! What's not to love about it? Offers versatility, easy to maintain, and gives your hair a break from the constant heat of a flat iron. Whether you are natural or get relaxers, this trend frees you from having to do your hair altogether. No flat ironing, no twist outs, no problems! Just keep them maintained and you're good to go!
Crop Sets- Matching sets have been popular since the Spring and are still hot for the Summer season. They are all over- crop tops and shorts, tanks and pencil skirts, stripes on stripes, floral on floral, and more! Perfect for picnics, cookouts, shopping, dates..anything! Wear them together and separately, so its more like 4 different outfits from two pieces! What?! Love that! Gladiator/Strappy Sandals- This trend has been around for past Summer seasons and is back around again! This shoes offers a old school feel, but in a modernized way. They can go along with everything, depending on the style and color- plus if you buy a pair with heels, you have one sexy shoe!
Ankle Strap Heels- Get this into your head, quickly- THESE WILL NEVER BE OUT OF STYLE! No matter the season, outfit, or occasion. I love them! These shoes go with pretty much everything! The epitome of effortless chic and sleek Whether you get the skinny strap, thick strap, patterned, two-toned, a classic color, thick heel, skinny heel, whatever!- You need a pair, or two or three.
Bralettes- The lacey bralettes have been popping up everywhere! They are being styled under dresses and with pencil skirts, maxi skirts, jeans, heels, sandals- you name it, you can probably put a bralette with it. They are light, sexy, and inexpensive. Stock up on a few! Beware, this little trend can be tricky; some of these are actually bras, meant to be worn underneath your clothes and not be seen by the public, but that doesn't mean you can't indulge for your private life;)
Kimonos- You know it's real when shopping websites have a new section under 'Tops' dedicated to just this trend. That means you definitely need to be looking into them! The cutest way they are being worn is over bathing suits or with high waist shorts! So adorable and sensual at the same time! Plus, the diverse patterns and prints make it easy to pair them with anything in your closet. Long or short, lace or fringe, patterned or plain- GET ONE (or some)! These can get a little pricey, depending on where you buy from! But' if you got it- ball out! I have found that stores like Marshalls have the most variety in style, while being friendly to the wallet, so keep that in mind!
If you haven't noticed, these few trends have something huge in common; they all offer versatility! Whether it is how you wear them or where you wear them, you'll find use for each trend all summer long. Plus, if you haven't had a chance, check on my Top Spring 2014 Trends.
