Chicken alfredo was the first food I ever learned to make on my own. Of course I had to recreate a legend, but with a bit more pizzazz than before. Second dose of #EasyEatingxBLT!
All the ingredients in one convenient place, but never at the same time (except for this picture). Beyond learning how to cook, I'm also interested in how to prepare properly. If you have tips, please leave a comment!
General Ingredients
Dairy Pure Whipping Cream
Trader Joe's Sliced White Mushrooms
365 Extra Virgin Olive Oil (unfiltered...whatever that means)
Trader Joe's Parmesan Cheese
Trader Joe's Les Salades du Midi Baby Spinach
The bulk of my ingredients came from new favorite place on earth- Trader Joe's. My sister raved about this place for a little minute before I finally gave in and went with her. It was love at first sight. Between there and the neighborhood Wal-Mart, your girl is a little grocery-a-holic!
Chicken Seasoning Ingredients
Italian Seasoning
Lemon Pepper Seasoning
Parsley Flakes
Black Pepper Salt
These are all pretty much the "tried and true" ingredients that I can never go wrong with. I typically use one or more of these spices when cooking just about anything. Proud to say that an old favorite, salt, doesn't make it into nearly as many dishes as it use to.
Step 1: Cook the pasta.
Until it's soft.
Step 2: Season and cook the chicken.
I get better flavor when I season the chicken first, then cook. Like a dummy I use to do it the other way around.
Step 3: Sautee the vegetables.
Coat the pan first! Be careful with the spinach.. It cooks quickly. so low heat is a must.
See. Lol!
Step 4: Create the Alfredo sauce.
In a pan on low heat, add your heaving whipping cream, stir. Gradually add parmesan cheese, keep stirring. Be careful not to add too much cheese; the mixture will become thick and act more like a cheese dip.
Step 5: EAT!
Scoop into your favorite bowl and enjoy!
peace and pasta, beautiful people!
