OOTD x BLT | Funky Fittings

I have two pieces in my closet and I am not sure what to do with either. Pretty much everyone has come across this problem. Even though I had worn this skirt before and the shirt was simple, the struggle was still real on how to get them out of the closet and onto my body. Unless...

I wore them together! Yes, pair the two pieces that are the most difficult with each other, or at least try to. I'm not saying that it will always be a hit, but you could be pleasantly surprised with what you come up. Take this look for example.

The skirt. It's super weird, if I am being honest. I love it for its asymmetrical, wrap around style but it is still a funky little skirt. It fits me baggier than most of my skirts, but it's ability to pair with just about any color makes it such a winner. I wanted to down play the funkiness and accentuate what it's good at, without completely muting it. Always try to pay attention to the strengths that your pieces have to offer.

Now, the shirt. This halter body suit, although it has such sex appeal, would not look right with any of the bottoms I had in my closet. I contribute that to the annoying pantie line it created. It showed with pretty much every bottom I tried on, but then I remembered my odd fitting and baggy asymmetrical skirt!

Match made in heaven! Two funky pieces can make one great look. My skirt was doing it's job by hiding the panty line, but also grabbing your attention. My shirt was looking flawlessly black and sexy, without looking raunchy.

No, this look isn't daring and bold, but it's efficient. Eveythign you wear doesn't need to "do the most". Both pieces are serving their purpose. Hide and attract, at the same time.

Lastly, the bag. A simple shoulder bag did just fine. The skirt, with it's thick material and tribal print gave plenty detailing. There was no need to throw in an obnoxious bag. A black bag to match my black shirt and shoes. Done and done! Simplicity must exist in some form, in all your looks.

Little side boob never hurt nobody. This halter top would still be a win for my ladies with a little more to offer up to. It stays in place and the material is stretchy, so don't worry about showing more than you want to. Less is sometimes more, you know.

Sadly, this is the only picture I have of the open back, but if you've seen one open back then you've pretty much seem them all. A low cut back adds so much sex appeal, without being revealing. Ideal for the modest woman in all of us.

A complete look, started by two funky pieces. Don't be afraid to rock those difficult garments together. You could be pleasantly surprised!

Peace and funky pairings, beautiful people!
xo,
BLT
