2016 New York Fashion Week Top 10 Favorites:Fall + Winter 2016 Presentations

It's been a little over a year since my last post on my favorite lines from NYFW! I'm ashamed! This post is one of my favorites to look back on, but it can be so time consuming. I am feeling determined in this new year, so I refused to miss this one! Get ready for my run down of my favorite lines and designers from this year!

The shows began on February 10 with Sachin & Bambi, and end February 19 with Uptown Fashion Week Exclusive. Between these two dates are over 50 shows and presentations, from various designers and their Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter lines! It took me some time, but I have finally review all the lines and chosen my top 10! Of course, there were some beautiful lines, designs, and artists to choose from, but something about these 10 creative concepts were irresistible. Whether it was the designer, the color schemes, or the composition of the clothing-this was one of the best New York Fashion weeks to review! Let's get started!

Laquan Smith
I have always known about this designer and his self-titled line, based out of and from New York, I had no idea the height of his talent and creative ability. Sadly, he was not listed on the apps or websites that I used to find pictures of the lines, but thank God for social media and the BET Network or I would have missed out on one of the greatest collections for the Fall/Winter season.  This Fall/Winter line included neutral tones, quilted patterns, and a lot of materials. I love how the clothes tailor to the silhouette of a woman, but remain tasteful throughout. I can see Rihanna rocking his pieces exquisitely. Laquan Smith and his brand will go further than ever expected! I am claiming it!

Desigual
This line will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine. As soon as I saw the beautiful prints and hues, I get excited. The lines slogan La Vida es Chula, translated to Life is Cool, is very apparent in the design of the clothing. Always vibrant, lively, and full of spirit. Desigual will forever bring life to the cold of the Fall and Winter.

Concept Korea
If this brand is a replica of the fashion culture in Korea, then Korea is doing the dang thang! I love this line! There were furs, chiffons, trench coats plunging neck lines...they have it all! This F/W line can cater to a variety of personalities and styles.

Herve Leger
I love how Max Azaria stays true to the lines traditional concept of the bodycon fit, but now venturing into more flowing pieces. The designs are immediately recognizable, with their bold linings and blocked colors, but have grown to be influenced more by cultural trends, which is awesome for the brand as a whole!

Marcel Ostertag
Marcel Ostertag needs to be sponsored by Pantone, because he is truly showing love to them! This line featured a lot of pieces with the 2015 Color of the Year, which has been everywhere this season, and both of the 2016 Color's of the Year. Bonus points for being fashion forward and doing so flawlessly. His designs are sleek and classic and I love the furs, cut out's, and how he keeps the designs modern. I can't believe I never noticed such an amazing artist.

Monique Lhuillier
At first glance, I thought this line was a little on the wild side, but then I saw the silver, netted shirt and pink midi skirt...I fell in love. This line has great pieces with bold colors and gorgeous floral prints, which are a serious weakness for me! Go Monique!

Nicole Miller
So I read that Nicole Miller is known for her "graphic prints and innovative silhouettes" and boy oh boy is she. This line featured some of the most appealing prints and patterns, front floral to fringe. Yessssss Nicole!

Prabal Gurung
This line is extremely romantic to me. The pieces are ideal for a romantic evening out or an elegant and high class party. I loved the color scheme which was eclectic, but complemented each other well. I loved the embroidery, various materials, the tone-on-tone selections, furs, and hints of sex appeal. I did not include a picture of the pieces with feathers, but one of the patterns included a white feather that I loved! It was such a nice touch to the simplicity of the dresses, sweaters, and pants that it adorned. Two thumbs up all around!

Rebecca Minkoff
This line is probably the only one on the list where the majority of the pieces can go straight from the runway to the streets, without any changes. I love how modern, conventional, and accessible the pieces are. The color scheme is gorgeous, with the blush and cool tones. You don't commonly see those colors during the Fall/Winter season, so it is refreshing to see a line build around the apletter that she chose.

Fenty x Puma
Rihanna can do no wrong when it comes to her style? #SorryNotSorry She is the ultimate fashion icon and always will be. And what's better than what she wears is how she wears it:  without a care in the world. If you like it, cool, if you don't, cool. She is bold, unapologetic, and unstoppable in the fashion world. As a creative director for Puma, she is bringing life to a brand that I had considered rather lifeless. I have never paid much attention to the brand, until her collaborations, and they are amazing, Aside from the Creepers, her clothing is also amazing. There is not much color, which is slightly disappointing, but the actual design is great. I love the lace up vibes, jogger appeal, and how each piece represents her personality. I definitely think I am going to have to buy the lace up dress pictured below! Got to!

That's all for my favs from New York Fashion Week 2016: Fall/Winter Presentations! I hope that you got great ideas about how to dress for the fall season!

Peace, love, and NYFW16!
