OOTD x BLT | I've Got the Blues

I am a huge fan of putting together pieces in the same color family! I love the contrasts of light and dark or the blend of neutrals, or creating fluidity with different patterns. That is not an easy task. A look can go from "Ooohhhh!" to "Ughhh?" very quickly whenever it comes to playing with colors or patterns. I've learned that the trick is to NOT force it! When you are doing color or pattern play, you have to let the clothes somewhat choose themselves. Some pieces are easy to pair with others, like polka dots, stripes, or any black and white pieces. These patterns are simple and relaxed; everyone loves them, everyone has them. Once you get into the pieces with unique textures odd geometric shapes, you run the risk of looking a little silly. For this look I wanted the contrast of the royal blue in the skirt and the light blue of the shirt. It's not doing too much, but still offers a little flare. I added a red shoes for just a little fun. The most important thing about this look is that I went with the flow and allowed the clothes to flow easily! Enjoy 'I've Got the Blues'!;)
