The first day of school was honestly nothing like I imagined it to be. I was expecting to be super nervous, excited, and full of joy; felt none of those. The only feelings in my body were those of an overwhelmed and exhausted girl, who didn't think she was ready for big girl world. But whether I was ready or not, there it was; the first day of school and I was not, figure out exactly what I was going to be doing, and imagining what my students were going to be like, the only thing I had planned was this outfit! Thank God! My wardrobe turned out to be the highlight of my day. Because I felt so ill-prepared, I had to let my outfit speak for me. It said "Hello, I'm Miss T, and I'm ready to help you learn." It's so true that when you look the part, you play it even better! Between the behavior issues (yes, on the FIRST day of school), the getting lost, and walking around helping students find their classes, I survived! This outfit was perfect for such a long day! Nothing too clingy, nothing too revealing, and I was finally told that I did not look like I was a student. My first day came and went. I took a lot from that day, good and bad, but what I remember the most is that I felt great and that's all that matters.
