The best piece of the summer season has been the slip dress. Who knew that stupid long silk camisole that my mama made me wear under all my Sunday dresses would become something to celebrate. Don't you just love how unpredictable and unorthodox fashion can be? Here is a piece that's mean to be worn underneath your clothes shining brightly on top for all the world to see! My Little Shining Star!

You can find slip dresses just about anywhere ranging from $20-$200 dollars or more, depending on the style and brand. They are becoming almost a necessity in your closet and after indulging in my own, I completely understand why.
I can't say that I have ever owned a dressed that is so easy to wear, but still offers so much elegance and style. Typically if you are looking for comfort in a dress you grab that tried and true cotton maxi that never lets you down. Yes, it is easy to wear, but lets be real...is it really that cute?
This dress can easily be dressed up or down. I chose up!
I paired my dress with a pair of chartreuse fringe lace up sandals I lucked upon from Charlotte Russe. You can't see it, but my silver dress had gold stitching, so the color of the shoes complimented that gold accent very well.
I wanted a bag that was neutral in color, making this bad the best option from my closet. I liked that the purse had silver accessories, such as the chain and clasp. I guess I wanted to be as shiny as possible with this outfit.
I can't deny how much this dress made me feel like dancing, so I took advantage of the chance to do so. Duh! You would dance too if you were wearing a shiny dress, well at least you should!
My mother would be so proud to know that I have finally embraced the slip, in my own way. Shout out to growth! My Little Shining Star made for a sexy look.
But wait...there's more! Remember how I said it could be dressed up or down? I chose down too!
I have been seeing a lot of stylish ladies pair their slip dresses with a tee underneath to make it more recreational, so I gave it a try. Just like that my dress went from dancing all night to exploring all day.
Add a more conventional bag, like I did with my bright backpack, or keep rocking your cross-body bag. And don't forget to kick off those heels and slide on your comfy sandals.
Two looks made with one little shiny dress! Look at God!
Peace and possibilities, beautiful people!
